Tucked above the River Ericht , our lodges are easy to reach yet feel a world away. Whether you’re travelling by train, bus, bike, or car, there are plenty of scenic routes that bring you to Blairgowrie — and straight to our door. Here’s how to find us.

🌍 Quick Travel Guide

  • By Train: Nearest stations are Dundee and Perth, with frequent services from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Inverness.

  • By Bus/Coach:

    • No. 57 from Dundee or Perth (hourly).

    • Ember all-electric coach from Dundee via Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie, continuing up the scenic A93 through Royal Deeside to Aberdeen.

    • Regular long-distance coaches (Citylink, Megabus) to Dundee/Perth.

  • By Local Bus: No. 63 stops right outside our entrance.

  • By Car: Just off the A93 Deeside Tourist Route. Free parking at each lodge.

  • By Bicycle: Close to National Cycle Network routes 7, 77, and 1. Secure cycle storage available.

  • By Plane: 1.5 hrs from Edinburgh Airport, 2 hrs from Glasgow Airport.

🚆 Travelling by Train

The closest mainline stations are at Dundee and Perth. Both enjoy frequent services: approximately every half hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and hourly from Aberdeen and Inverness. Travelling from England, you may need to change at Glasgow or Edinburgh.  or  are both excellent for planning your journey.

🚌 Travelling by Coach and Bus

  • From Dundee or Perth: Both cities have regular coach services from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness, with operators including Scottish Citylink and Megabus. Their bus stations also connect directly to local services.
  • Local buses to Blairgowrie: The Strathtay Scottish No. 57 runs hourly from both Dundee and Perth to Blairgowrie.
  • New Ember Bus Service: A fantastic new option is the Ember all-electric coach running from Dundee via Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie, continuing north along the scenic A93 through Royal Deeside to Aberdeen. This is not only a sustainable way to travel but also one of the most beautiful routes in Scotland.

🚴 Travelling by Bicycle

The National Cycle Network routes 77 and 7 run to the west and south of Blairgowrie, while route 1 passes to the east and northeast. Blairgowrie is approximately 15 miles from either.

We are proud to be part of the Cyclists Welcome scheme, offering secure cycle storage and facilities to make your trip smooth. Bicycles can be carried free of charge on trains and some buses, but it’s always best to check and book in advance.

🚗 Travelling by Car

If you can’t resist bringing the car, we offer free onsite parking by each lodge. We are situated just off the A93, the Deeside Tourist Route and Scenic Snowroads.

Once here, we can help you plan car-free adventures with walking and cycling maps, plus contacts for canoe safaris that will take you by river to Dundee, Perth, or anywhere in between.

✈️ Travelling by Plane

  • From Edinburgh Airport: Take the M90 north to Perth, then follow the A93 north to Blairgowrie (signposted Braemar). Approx. 58 miles, 1.5 hours.
  • From Glasgow Airport: Follow signs for the M80 to Stirling, then the M9 (A9) to Perth, and finally the A93 north to Blairgowrie (signposted Braemar). Approx. 85 miles, 2 hours.
