Finding us

Our lodges are located above the banks of the River Ericht just off the A93 in the village of Rattray across the river from our sister town Blairgowrie.

We are within easy walking distance of the main bus station in the Wellmeadow (10mins) and are also on the local town bus route No 63 the stop being just opposite our entrance. Find an online map of Blairgowrie Town Centre Here

The 2 major transport hubs close to Blairgowrie are Dundee and Perth.

The closest main line stations are at Dundee and Perth. They enjoy approximately every half hour services from Edinburgh, Glasgow, and hourly from Aberdeen and Inverness. Travelling from England you may have to change at Glasgow or Edinburgh. The Trainline or National Rail are both great places to plan your rail journey.

Both Perth and Dundee have regular coach services from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness. Operators include Scottish Citylink and Megabus. The bus station in Dundee and Perth both play host to the local bus companies making transfers easy. Onward travel from Dundee or Perth is then by the hourly local bus service Strathtay Scottish number 57 from both Dundee or Perth. The National Cycle Network has route number 77 and 7 to the west and south of Blairgowrie and route 1 to the east and north east. Blairgowrie is approximately 15 miles from either. We are part of the VisitScotland Cyclists Welcome scheme which recognises establishments which go the extra mile to help make your trip go smoothly and can offer secure storage for your cycles. Bicycles can be carried free of charge on trains and some buses but it is always best to check and book in advance.

If you find it just impossible to leave the car at home we offer free onsite parking by each lodge. We are situated just off the A93, the Deeside Tourist Route. We have a range of information available to help plan a car free journey once you are here with access to walking and cycling maps and contacts for canoe safaris that will take you by river to Dundee,  Perth or anywhere in between.

From Edinburgh Airport take the M90 North to Perth and then follow A93 North to Blairgowrie (signposted Braemar).  Approx. 58 miles driving time approx. 1.5 hours. 

From Glasgow Airport follow signs for M80 to Stirling then the M9 (A9) to Perth and then then follow A93 North to Blairgowrie (signposted Braemar).  Approx. 85 miles – driving time approx. 2 hours.
