Everything you need to know before your stay at Ericht

A Few Things You Might Like to Know

From booking and arrival to dogs, parking and what you’ll find in your lodge, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find what you need, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Booking & Your Stay

How much per night to stay?

Our prices vary depending on the lodge, dates and length of stay. For up-to-date prices, simply enter your preferred dates on our availability page or use any of the Book Now buttons around the website

What is the minimum stay?

We have a minimum stay of two nights throughout the year. You can check available dates and prices using our online availability search.

What time is check-in?

Our normal check-in time is between 4pm and 6pm. As a small family-run business, we live on site and like to welcome our guests personally. If you expect to arrive after 6pm, please let us know in advance so we can arrange this with you. We kindly ask guests to avoid very late-night arrivals wherever possible as we require to meet every guest on arrival.

Can we check-in early?

Sometimes. Depending on our changeover schedule, we may be able to offer an earlier check-in, usually from 3pm. Please contact us on the day and we’ll let you know if your lodge is ready.

Is there any flexibility on check-out time?

Our normal check-out time is 10am. Occasionally we may be able to offer a later check-out, depending on our bookings and changeover schedule. Please ask us and we’ll let you know if this is possible.

Can my friends/family visit for the day?

Yes, you’re very welcome to have friends or family visit you during your stay. We just ask that you let us know in advance how many people will be visiting and provide the registration numbers of any additional cars, so that we know who is on site.

Can extra guests stay overnight?

Only guests included in your booking may stay overnight in the lodge. Our lodges are licensed for a maximum of four overnight guests, and we need to know who is staying with us for licensing, safety and guest-record purposes.

If your plans change and you would like to add or change a guest, please contact us before they stay. We’ll be happy to help where this is possible, provided the lodge’s maximum occupancy is not exceeded.

Do you need details of everyone staying in the lodge?

Yes. For licensing, safety and guest-record requirements, we need details of everyone staying in your lodge. We may also need some additional information from overseas visitors in accordance with UK guest-registration requirements. We’ll let you know what information is required when you stay.

Dogs & Pets

Are dogs welcome?

Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome at Ericht Holiday Lodges. We welcome up to two dogs per lodge, which must be added to your booking in advance. There is an additional charge for dogs.

With woodland and riverside walks from the doorstep, it’s a lovely spot for a break with your four-legged companions. We just ask guests to follow our Pet Charter during their stay, including keeping dogs on leads within the grounds and not allowing them on beds or furniture.

Can I bring any other animals?

Unfortunately, no. We welcome dogs, but we’re unable to accommodate cats or other pets.

Are there dog-friendly places to eat in the local area?

Yes! Blairgowrie has a growing choice of dog-friendly cafés, pubs and places to eat, many within walking distance of the lodges or a short drive of the lodges. We’re always happy to share our current favourites and recommendations during your stay.

The Lodges & Facilities

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available in all six lodges. As we’re in a woodland setting, speeds can occasionally vary, but it’s suitable for everyday browsing, emails and keeping in touch.

How accessible are the lodges?

Access varies between the six lodges, including the distance from parking and the number of steps to the entrance. If mobility or accessibility is important for your stay, please contact us before booking. Because we know each lodge well, we can talk you through the options and help you choose the most suitable one.

Do we need to bring bed linen and towels?

We provide all bed linen, and the beds will be made up ready for your arrival. We also provide a hand towel, bath mat and tea towels in each lodge. Bath towels are not included, so please bring your own, although we have a limited number available to hire if arranged in advance.

We offer traditional-style self-catering, keeping our lodges comfortable, well equipped and good value rather than adding lots of hotel-style extras. You’ll find the essentials you need to settle in and enjoy your stay.

Can we smoke or vape in the lodges?

No. All of our lodges are strictly non-smoking and non-vaping. Smoking and vaping are permitted outside on the veranda, but we ask that you keep the lodge doors and windows closed while doing so.

Do you have laundry facilities?

Yes we now have a small laundry with a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a washing line by each lodge and a clothes horse in each lodge.

Are the lodges fully equipped for self-catering?

Yes. Each lodge has a kitchen with an oven and hob, microwave, fridge with a small freezer compartment, plus pans, crockery, cutlery and the everyday essentials you need for a self-catering stay.

Are the lodges heated?

Yes. All six lodges have full gas central heating, so they are warm and cosy throughout the year — including those chilly Perthshire evenings.

Is there parking at the lodges?

Yes. Each lodge has its own parking space close to the lodge. Access does vary slightly between lodges, so if walking distance, steps or accessibility are important to you, please contact us before booking and we’ll help you choose the most suitable lodge.

Can I charge an electric vehicle at the lodges?

No. We don’t currently have EV charging facilities on site, and electric vehicles must not be charged from the lodge electricity supply or a domestic three-pin socket.

There are public EV charging points available nearby in Blairgowrie, and we’re happy to point you towards the most convenient options.

Do the lodges have hot tubs?

No, our lodges don’t have hot tubs. Ericht is all about peaceful woodland stays, cosy lodges and exploring beautiful Perthshire rather than resort-style facilities.

Getting Here & Exploring

Are the lodges in Blairgowrie?

Yes — although technically we’re in Rattray, just across the River Ericht from Blairgowrie. The lodges enjoy a quieter setting on the eastern side of the river, while Blairgowrie town centre is around a 10-minute walk away.

This means you can enjoy a peaceful, secluded setting while still being able to walk to Blairgowrie’s shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

From the lodges it’s around a 10-minute walk into the town centre, using pavements and street-lit roads. So you can enjoy our peaceful, secluded setting while still being able to leave the car behind and walk into town.

Can we walk to pubs and restaurants from the lodges?

Yes. Blairgowrie has a good choice of cafés, pubs, restaurants and takeaways within walking distance of the lodges. The town centre is around a 10-minute walk away, so you don’t always need to take the car when you want to eat out.

Have a look at our Plan Your Stay section for local recommendations, or just ask us — we’re always happy to share our favourites.

How far are the lodges from Blairgowrie town centre and public transport?

Blairgowrie town centre is around a 10-minute walk from the lodges, with pavements and street lighting along the route. From the town you’ll find local bus services connecting Blairgowrie with surrounding towns and places to explore.

This makes it possible to enjoy some of your stay without relying entirely on a car. Visit our Plan Your Stay section for how to get here and get around once you arrive.

Are the lodges a good base for exploring Perthshire and Scotland?

Yes. Blairgowrie is very well placed for exploring Perthshire, Royal Deeside, the Cairngorms and the east of Scotland. We’re close to the A93, making Ericht Holiday Lodges a convenient base for days out, scenic drives and touring further afield.

Visit our Plan Your Stay section for ideas, local favourites and places to discover during your stay.

Can we explore the area without a car?

Yes. Blairgowrie town centre is around a 10-minute walk away, so cafés, shops, pubs and restaurants can easily be reached on foot. There are also walks you can enjoy from the lodge grounds and local bus connections from Blairgowrie.

A car will give you the greatest flexibility for exploring further into Perthshire and the Cairngorms, but you certainly don’t need to use it for every part of your stay.

Can we fish on the river?

Th

Not from the riverbank within our grounds. Although the River Ericht runs beside the lodge grounds, fishing isn’t permitted from our own stretch of riverbank.

Fishing is available elsewhere on the River Ericht and in the surrounding area, with permits available locally. We’re happy to point you in the right direction if you’d like to fish during your stay. Find some useful information on our Plan Your Stay pages
