Ericht Lodge is our cheerful yellow lodge, sitting south‑facing towards the river and catching the best of the spring light. It’s one of our most popular spots for early‑season breaks — warm, comfortable, dog friendly and perfectly placed for exploring Blairgowrie and the surrounding countryside.
The veranda is a favourite with guests and pups alike, especially at this time of year. It’s a peaceful place to sit with a morning coffee, watch the birds flitting through the trees, and listen to the river. Inside, the open‑plan lounge is bright and welcoming, with a smart TV for catching up on box sets, great Wi‑Fi, and a selection of board games for relaxed evenings in.
After a day out walking, there’s nothing better than a long soak in the bath — a real treat compared to many other lodges and pods that only offer showers. The kitchen is fully equipped for easy meals, but you’re also just a short stroll from Blairgowrie’s cafés, takeaways, deli, and butchers if you’d rather pick up something tasty.
One of the best things about Ericht Lodge is the location. Park right beside the lodge, step out the door, and you’re on your way — into town in 5–10 minutes, along the riverside paths, up into the hills, or around the lochs. It’s a brilliant base for walkers, dog owners, and anyone who loves having nature and convenience side by side.
Ericht Lodge takes its name from the River Ericht, the fast‑running Perthshire river that flows just below the park. Formed where the Blackwater and Ardle meet at Bridge of Cally, the Ericht winds south through the dramatic Craighall Gorge — a protected ancient woodland and one of the area’s most striking natural features — before cutting through Blairgowrie and once powered the textile mills that once shaped the town. Today the river is known for salmon, trout, otters, beavers, dippers, and the constant movement and birdsong that guests love. From the lodge’s south‑facing veranda you can spy the river in all its moods, from bright spring sparkle to the deeper roar after rain. Even better to walk its length and, you’ll feel its history all around you — the rush of the water, the old mill walls tucked into the banks, and the sense of a town shaped by the power of the Ericht.
