Scotland is truly blessed with natural beauty and here in Blairgowrie we have a magical wooded, river side setting which we share with many species of natural flora and fauna that Scotland has become synonymous with.

At Ericht Holiday Lodges we are committed to ensuring that our impact on this precious environment is kept to a minimum and preserved for generations to come. We are striving to be more Green by taking into account the needs of the environment, local residents, businesses, and visitors; now and in the future. We enjoy some really beautiful green and flowery spaces in our town. This is thanks to Blair In Bloom, a voluntary committee group, we hope that you might make a donation to their cause whilst booking.

To demonstrate our commitment we have joined Green Tourism. They support sustainable tourism which protects environments, respects local cultures, supports communities, conserves natural resources and minimises pollution.  They are supporting us on our Green journey with business support and encouragement and with assessment visits to our site.

Some of the main steps we have taken to reduce our impact are:

	Recycling as much as possible to reduce waste
	Increasing the use of low energy consuming appliances and bulbs
	Reviewing our energy consumption on a monthly basis
	Designing the garden to further encourage wildlife
	Encouraging our guests to use public transport if possible
	Buying locally and supporting local community projects
	Introducing the use of Eco friendly products for cleaning, admin and waste collection
	Complying with relevant environmental legislation and regulations

We have an inventory of the trees around the lodges and in addition we are keen to support & enhance our grounds for flora and fauna further by:

	Encouraging our guests to monitor and record wildlife in the grounds
	Providing suitable food for wild birds and red squirrels & monitoring sightings of these
	Optimising opportunities for wildlife in the garden by “Giving them a Home”

We are conscious of our Carbon Footprint and during their stay we would encourage our guests to make use of:

	The information we provide on walking and cycling routes
	Our recycling area
	The public transport information and timetables
	Our “Love to Eat Out and In” information to help buy and eat locally
	Our library of “preloved” books and walking maps

We are committed to reviewing our policy on an ongoing basis and looking for new ways to improve our sustainability and reduce our impact on the environment.
